baby girl quilt

Baby Girl
I have a British niece!  My sister-in-law had Amelie on 17th May and everyone is healthy and happy.  In preparation, I made a boy’s and girl’s quilt for the new baby.
This is my husband’s favorite quilt ever and it’s definitely one of mine as well (it has my beloved bunting!!).  I can see making many more of these.  It’s just so sweet with the whimsical bunting across the white cotton front.

Like the boy quilt I made, the fabric is taken from Amy Butler’s “Soul Blossoms”, although the backing is from a different collection.  I only machine quilted the bunting “string”, nothing more.  This makes for a lovely, poofy-in-parts quilt which is so pleasing to lie on.  I didn’t use a pattern, but instead stole inspiration from Google images for “bunting quilt”.  It’s simple enough to do.

The back is a simple pink and white patterned fabric.
