I’ve been quiet recently but I have been working hard. Lots of new projects but today I’m just posting about my completed top for this quilted advent calendar. Thanks to this fabulous tutorial Bailey will have a lovely advent calendar stuffed with fun goodies bought by mommy and daddy. (bubbles, raisins, toy car…!)
It is enormous, which I hadn’t expected, so Simon rightfully questioned “where will it hang??”. I’m not sure. It could be a curtain, it’s so large! But first I need to quilt it (waiting for the backing material to arrive) and I’ll think about that later. It’s also so large that I’m afraid if we ever have more children, they would be extremely envious of this huge advent calendar… so may just be a shared advent calendar with individual wrapped goodies for more than one child in each pocket.
I love the fabric– it’s Riley Blake’s Christmas Candy which is so scrumptious!!
Now I just need this finished by December….
Thanks to Freshly Pieced for organizing this weekly WIP.

This is wonderful, and probably well on the way to become a heirloom…
It’s stunning… And your son will love it. You will definitely need to make another if you have more children at some point. Otherwise they will fight over who get to take it when they leave home at some point 🙂
That does look like a lot of work! So fun though! Riley Blake has some of the best fabrics, don’t they?
I made one of these too! Yours is beautiful, and thanks so much for posting about it, because you have reminded me that I need to start collecting goodies for all those pockets!
How wonderful!
So adorable! I absolutely love it! I need to make it one of these days.
Love your advent calendar. That tutorial has been on my mental to do list for a while now. Don’t you just love her stuff!
How great…love the advent calendar.
