overlocker

Welcome, little overlocker!  I am thrilled to have to clear some space and redo my craft workstation to fit this little guy on.  At first I tried swapping my sewing machine (used on my desk) with the overlocker but that got tedious as some projects require a constant use of both.  And I don’t like putting one on the floor when the other is in use.  So I decided he needed a permanent place and the workstation is perfect.  I can easily overlock standing up (it’s so fast… it’s amazing!).  If you haven’t used an overlocker before, it’s one of the most addictive and fun parts of a project.  And it’s what can really transform an item of clothing into a very professional looking piece.

I had a look on eBay for one within 10 miles, so I could collect.  And I found one for £140 just one mile away.  I made an offer of 80 (rejected), 90 (rejected) and 101 which was finally accepted!

I think he needs his own cover, so that will be an upcoming project.  Now, to find a secondhand Bernina to replace my current sewing machine….
